I am a little late to the party, but thought I’d share some looks featuring the season’s arguably most popular print, GINGHAM. To be honest, at first I did not have too much of an opinion on it because I tend to shy away from prints. But after seeing how cute and surprisingly versatile the trend was on fellow bloggers and this outfit from Miley Cyrus, I caved in. Fast forward to now, and I have not one, but two gingham looks to share with you all.
Dressed in Gingham
Look number one is this fabulous gingham dress from makemechic.com. The length of the dress with the added cut-out shoulders brings a nice balance to the printed dress. I also love that the fit of the dress is very loose, which actually makes for cute and comfortable weekend wear and provides some serious twirling action. Since the entire dress is made of this print, I found the perfect black mules to complement the look. The mules are simple, yet add a small elegant touch that puts the outfit together. For fun, I decided to add a pop of color to the black & white look with my purple purse from Coach.
Skirt + Crop Top
The second look is a more colorful approach to Gingham than the first. This skirt is also from makemechic.com and has an adorable tie detail in the front. The first time I wore this skirt, I paired it with a basic black bodysuit. The second time (pictured), I chose a dusty pink crop top. The pink top mixed with the blue gingham gave me some serious summer vibes. I wanted to show how you could play with color when it comes to this trend, which is one of the ways gingham can actually be versatile.
So I can’t decide which of the two are my favorite, but I may be leaning towards the second. I really liked how the pink top looked with the skirt. But I will say the gingham dress was the perfect mix of comfy and stylish. Below are some of the items from both looks above plus more gingham printed beauties.
