A long weekend, amazing wine, romantic views, delicious food, and a cozy wardrobe are the things that sum up my recent trip. At last, I am finally back home and realized how much I really enjoyed Sonoma looking back. It was not a crazy, hectic vacation but a nice and quiet one thanks to the Air BnB we stayed in and our wonderful tour guide who showed us the best wineries. I am suddenly re-inspired by all the sights and the trip definitely reawakened the inner romantic in me.
About the Look: Silk Slip Dress
One of many things that differentiates Northern California and Southern California (where I am from) is the weather. Northern California actually has seasons. With that in mind, I knew it was important to bring some long sleeves and heavier layers. But knowing my boyfriend and I were going to visit some fine wineries and restaurants, I wanted to be just a little dressed up. To keep warm, I paired this black turtleneck sweater with this gorgeous slip dress from Lulus. Also, I wore my knee high taupe boots with sheer tights to complete the look. Not featured in the pictures was my black coat that I wore in between the wineries. I think this look encompassed that romantic feel I was going for and the slip dress was toned down just enough.
I think what most inspired me during my trip was the simplicity of it. We were not surrounded by loud, busy streets but rather, the quietness of the grapevines and the fresh air. Sonoma is a small town, but the beautiful views from the wineries and the quaintness of the town center were things I really enjoyed. Although small, there was a lot of depth and history within the town and the wineries it prides itself on. It was truly a getaway that will be missed until we return again.
