All Black Outfit
When it comes to choosing what to wear, I must admit my go to choices are almost all black. I know I am not the only one! It’s an easy color to wear, it’s flattering, and matches most things. It is easy to get lost in the color though, especially when pairing black bottoms with a black top and black shoes. When wearing the same color from head to toe, this is where texture becomes your friend. Lace and leather can be a great texture combination, and I wanted to incorporate that in today’s all black look. If wearing all black, it would also be a good idea to play with length. Thanks to the beautiful architecture of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the look turned out to be more futuristic looking.
Working the Lace
This gorgeous lace top is anything but subtle, and is the statement piece here. The little shoulder ruffle detail adds a nice feminine touch. The lace top came with a silky camisole underneath and made for a very pretty contrast. I opted for suede black booties from BCBGeneration since they paired nicely with the leather leggings. As I said before, different textures work for monochromatic outfits. Also featured in this look is my Kate Spade Cedar Street purse and a simple choker. This is definitely more of a statement look and something I would wear to an occasion. I think pairing it with pants makes the look very structured. If I was going for an everyday look with this top, I’d pair it with a simple skater skirt instead.
To wrap things up, I’d say this look is tough but feminine. Probably because the outfit is reminiscent of some kind of modern vampire lol. Also, I really love the Walt Disney Concert Hall. If you are in LA it’s definitely worth visiting, and anyone is free to roam about the outside and admire the architecture.
