My closet is full of basics. I had a phase where I only wore black or white solid tees paired with any bottoms, mostly denim or something printed. That was back then in college when I just wanted to be comfortable… which was not that long ago ;). I thought I would take that look and turn it into something more sophisticated, chic, with a hint of street.
My White Tee
Okay so I have to admit, this isn’t your average white tee. It’s a beautiful piece from Zara’s Trafaluc line and was less than $15, score! I am a sucker for romantic details and love the ruffled sleeves. Also, I love that the top is a bit oversized. Even though it could be a statement piece itself, I consider this to be a perfect spring staple item.
Stepping up the Basics
The rest of the look includes these distressed jeans and black & gold accents. The heels I am wearing are actually one of my favorites because they are comfortable to wear and add a nice edge. I actually ended up walking around downtown in these for a solid 2 hours before I had to take a break! As for the belt, it has these awesome chainlink-like detail on the sides and matched perfectly with my heels. I haven’t worn a belt with jeans in a while and didn’t intend to, but the jeans happened to be one size too big and I liked how the end result looked. Not to mention, I wouldn’t have to worry about constantly pulling my pants up, lol!
I wanted to add a little ‘streetwear’ flair to this overall look and couldn’t have done so without the proper accessories. I actually made it a little goal to play around more with accessories because I don’t usually incorporate too many in my looks. Anyways, hope you enjoyed a little taste of one of my favorite places in L.A by browsing the pics of this look!
Til next time,
