Red Lace Dress

Oh Valentine’s day. A day that either brings a lot of love to some or a lot of eye-rolling to others. Either way… CHOCOLATE! Seriously though, I am heading to Target for some day-after-valentines-day chocolate deals. Anyways, in the spirit of Valentine’s day, I decided to wear this beautiful red lacy dress. I wanted to go for more of a classic romantic look, perfect for those fancy dinners, long strolls by the lake, a daytime affair at a museum… you catch my drift.

Red Lace & Red Lips

I thought of Valentine’s day when I purchased this dress at Francesca’s because of the color. My favorite part of the dress is actually the waistline, because of the delicate mesh detail. The dress also happens to be off-the-shoulder, which is one of my favorite trends.

I have always found red a difficult color to style because it’s so bold. But since this look is inspired by Valentine’s day, I wanted the red to pop and wore a matching lip color. When wearing red lips, I try to keep everything else on my face as bare as possible. I feel like red is one of those colors that should just pop out when worn, even on the face. So, I kept the eye-makeup & blush/bronzer/highlighter pretty minimal.

I paired the dress with a dark denim jacket and black sandals to complete the look. For jewelry, I kept it simple and stuck to my favorite necklace from Louis Vuitton. Although, the dress stands out on it’s own and looks great by itself. The dress can also work for a more formal look, but pairing it with the denim jacket makes it perfect for both day and night.

I had so much fun wearing this dress and really love the color! Red is actually my favorite color but I don’t own much red clothing. I hope you all enjoy your Valentine’s Day or at least all the discounted candy that comes after!

Til next time,

April
