A Breath of Fresh Air in Charlotte Russe

I have been loving the rainy weather lately here in California. But when the rain takes a break and the clouds open up a little, it makes for a very beautiful day. The pictures were taken from my collaboration with Prayudi Widjojo from Urban D Photography. This was a unique collaboration as we captured the essence of the Southern California landscape while also focusing on the fashion. Below I have included more on the outfit & picturesque location! All Dressed up in Charlotte Russe

Both the dress and my boots are from Charlotte Russe. The fit of the dress is very flattering and I love how the skirt flares out a little. The back of the dress is also open, which is one of my favorite details. Mock necklines have definitely been a huge trend last year and I do not see it leaving anytime soon. At first, I was not a fan of the mock neckline/turtleneck look. But I think because mock necklines are more subtle than turtlenecks of the past, it can make for a sophisticated look.

These boots have been featured before, but I can’t help myself. They are my favorite winter boots and pair well with so many outfits. I think my favorite detail is the block heel. The block heel has been around forever, but I feel that this trend has become more popular last year. At least, I’ve been seeing more sandals and booties with a very pronounced block heel.

Newport Beach Civic Center

One of my favorite places to go in college was Newport Beach. It was a nice escape from a busy week of studying, and offered so many nice views of the ocean. Also one of my favorite shopping malls and a bunch of great restaurant and coffee shops were here too. In fact, every time I go here, I visit one local coffee shop in particular. My favorite past times include driving down PCH and walking down the pier at night. There is something really peaceful about visiting the beach at night and I miss living close by.

The photos were taken at the Newport Beach Civic Center and Library. I always liked the modern architecture of  these buildings against the ocean backdrop. There is also this eccentric little park next to the civic center that has random sculptures of animals throughout. Also this happens to be next to that mall I mentioned earlier, Fashion Island. So glad I got to visit Newport Beach again, hopefully I can travel Orange County more this year and showcase more of my favorite spots!

Til next time,

April
