Keeping it Simple in Olive Colored Denim

This month has been very fast paced. My January calendar filled up almost completely and I like to take it easy whenever I can. While I am the type who has to constantly be doing something, an occasional break from the usual routine is healthy. At the very least, a day completely free to myself with nothing planned whatsoever! So I put on my velvet flats and went outside to enjoy the beautiful Southern California winter weather.

Easy in Olive

Olive has been a favorite winter color of mine. It is a rich color that definitely deserves to stand out when worn. When I found these jeans on Necessary Clothing, I was a bit skeptical. First, because I never buy pants online, as they are hard enough to shop for in person. Second, I always thought colored denim was unflattering on me. When I received them in the mail, I was so happy to see they fit perfectly and I felt comfortable in them. This definitely does not happen very often!

The black knit top and the velvet ankle strap flats were purchased from Asos. The top was very comfortable thanks to its relaxed fit and has a strappy back feature (sadly, not shown in pictures). I will be throwing this top on when I have nothing else to wear, because it’s very simple  yet stylish. The shoes are actually one of my favorite things I purchased this month. Originally, I bought them to wear to work but I have been wearing them for almost anything. Yay for transitional pieces! I love that these flats that have a very small block heel and how they make the outfit look more polished.

There you have it, a simple but put-together look perfect for the weekends. And in case you were wondering, that is a fitbit I am wearing on my wrist. I guess that was part of what motivated me to take a walk in the park! Will be working on walking a lot more from this point forward, especially when the weather is so nice.

Til next time,

April
