3 Easy Layered Winter Looks

Woah last Thanksgiving week went by so fast, where did the time go! I have compiled some of my looks throughout the busy week and decided to do one giant post. All of these looks are easy & transitional winter looks. Well, I should specify “Southern California Winter” looks as I’m sure these are not warm enough for places with actual winter temperatures. Although, this could be more of a casual ‘layered outfits’ collection for the transition from Fall to Winter.

Light Layered

I have been a huge fan of duster length cardigans and jackets for a while. I just love how effortless it looks and really ties an outfit together. Here, I paired a very lacy bodysuit with high waisted slit-knee leggings and a pair of statement heels. The bodysuit & leggings alone make for a more sexy/glam look especially with the heels, but the cardigan definitely makes it look sophisticated. The cardigan in this outfit is pretty lightweight, which added a cool flowing effect when walking!  I wore this outfit during the day for a coffee run, but it can easily turn into a night look with a leather jacket instead.

Medium Layered

Denim-on-denim is not my favorite combo, but I made an exception with my dark denim pieces. I chose a dark denim jacket and black jeans to pair with this festive striped sweater. Up close this sweater is actually very shimmery and made for a great contrast with the dark denim. Denim jackets don’t really keep me warm unless they are worn with a thicker material underneath. Also, I liked that the sleeves of the jacket were somewhat shorter than the sweater. It allows for the sleeves of the sweater to peek out. To complete the layered look, I wore my over the knee taupe boots to keep the outfit from being too dark.

Heavy Layered

My favorite winter piece is this long puffer coat because it definitely keeps me warm and I love the length. It looks great with dresses and pants so this is my go-to jacket when it gets cold enough to wear. This is the heaviest look of the three, involving a scarf, knitted dress, tights, booties, and the thick coat. It was finally cold in Southern California this week so I busted out my winter accessories, including this olive  scarf. To lighten up the heaviness of the coat, I opted for a black & white striped dress. The dress underneath was made of sweater material so I was definitely nice and warm!

These three outfits were pretty much on-the-go looks. Last week was hectic so I tried to look as put together as possible! I am definitely going to take advantage of all the holiday sales going on and stock up on some winter accessories. Which casual look was your favorite?

Til next time,

April
